After learning the truth about Jedi Knights from Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke found himself thrown into the middle of the conflict between the Republic and the Empire. Star Wars focused on a civil war that took place "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." At the center of the story was young Luke Skywalker, a moisture farmer from Tatooine.
The hit space opera was followed by two direct sequels, and a prequel trilogy and a sequel trilogy were added in the decades that followed. The saga kicked off with George Lucas' 1977 film starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing, and Alec Guinness. Disney's Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is the final entry in the Skywalker Saga, the core films of the Star Wars franchise.
